Mission Patch

Astronaut crews design a mission patch for every space flight. The patch usually shows information such as the name of the Space Shuttle, different phases of a space mission and crew names.

Mission Patches normally contain certain elements:
  • Something representing Canada
  • Something representing Astronomy or space travel
  • Something representing a voyage between Earth and Mars
  • Something personal, representing the group or the school

Mission Patch Activity
Your team must design a Canadian National Marsville Mission Patch for your own space adventure. Try to include information you've learned so far about Mars, space travel, science and technology. Remember, have fun and be creative!

Mission Patch School Poster/ Display
All patches that are submitted to the Marsville coordinators on time will be included in the Winnipeg Marsville poster. Each student gets a copy of the poster to take home as a souvenier!

Other Mission activities
You may choose to also have your teams come up with a Mission Statement, to get them thinking about why they want to go to Mars.
A Mission Motto is also a fun thing to do, and can be included on the mission patch (just like Apollo 13!)
